Television Review Directory

I don’t have the time or patience to review every show or miniseries I watch in-depth, so I will use a simplistic rating system. I think rating television with numbers or letter grades is arbitrary and dumb, so instead I will use emojis. Yes, you read that right. Either I liked a movie, I didn’t, or I thought it was a mixed bag.

✅= Worth Your Time / ❌= Not Worth Your Time / 🙃️= Mixed Bag / ⭐️ = REALLY Worth Your Time

24, Season 1 (2001) ⭐️ Nail-biting, binge-worthy television.

24, Season 2 (2002) ⭐️ The subplot with Kim is ridiculous, but is more than made up for by Dennis Haysbert’s performance as quite possibly the best fictional President ever.

Breaking Bad (2008-2013) ⭐️

Daredevil (2015-2018) ⭐️ Netflix’s best and most consistent Marvel show by far; the second season stumbles, but the overall experience is sublime.

Doom Patrol (2019-) ⭐️ Rivals, if not surpasses “Daredevil” for best superhero show. The perfect balance of weird, funny, and serious.

Euphoria (2019-) ⭐️ An amazing balance between style and substance in a teen melodrama that has no right being this good.

Game of Thrones (2011-2019) 🙃️Yes, it ended badly, but it’s hard to forget how good the majority of the series is.

Harley Quinn (2019-)

Invincible (2021-) ⭐️

Jack Ryan, Season 1 (2018)

Jack Ryan, Season 2 (2019) A step down from the complex cast of the first season, but still enjoyable.

LOST (2004-2010) ⭐️ Don’t let what you’ve heard about the show dissuade you from watching.

Smallville (2001-2011)

The Boys (2019-) ⭐️

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (2021)

The OA (2016-2019) Pretentious and mostly boring. Unable to balance the weird and gritty elements.

The Wire (2002-2008) ⭐️ Depressing but good.

Titans, Season 1 (2018) Ignore the marketing. It’s a little rough around the edges, but surprisingly enjoyable.

Titans, Season 2 (2019) 🙃️ A giant mess, but the nerd in me likes it anyway.

WandaVision (2021)
